FOWS was active in 2009 to express its thoughts in the Community Vision and the Endorsement Petition.
Community Vision: FOWS developed a Community Vision with West Shore community input throughout the summer of 2009. Here are the five areas of concern that the Community Vision focuses on:
- Transportation and Public Safety
- Conservation of Natural Resources
- Land-Use Development
- Recreation and Public Access
- Social Cohesion –Supporting Community
The remarkable fact is that the vision we developed is consistent with the 2007 Regional Vision Pathways & Forum Summary held by TRPA which had over 2500 participants. We have validated once more the interests of the West Shore community at Lake Tahoe.
The final FOWS Community Vision was presented to the TRPA Board on December 16, 2009.
