Land Use Development

FOWS completed the Community Vision Statement in the summer of 2009. This statement is the only part of a Community Plan. Basically, only the TRPA’s Planned Area Statements (PAS) basically restricts growth through zoning on vacant land outside of the urban boundaries. FOWS envisions preserving and enhancing the character, scale, compatibility and historic significance of the rural quality of life present on the West Shore. This is necessary to understand as a basis for the West Shore Issues.
